Welcome to our new blog.  We're really excited to use this space to talk about the things that matter to our partners, churches and donors, and we invite you to provide feedback and ask questions using the comments tool that follows each post.  While technology is changing how we communicate, the principals that bind us and our communities remain unchanged.

From time to time, we'll submit new posts that reflect the goings on of the Foundation and the dialogs we have with folks like you.  Each time we and our Regional Partners have the opportunity to meet new donors and hear their stories we'll have the platform for sharing the experience with the rest of the American Baptist community.  Hopefully you'll find them as inspirational as we do.

Palmer Grant Cycle Begins

The Foundation is beginning the 2011 Grant cycle by partnering with American Baptist Home Mission Societies.  Later in the year, the MRC and IM cycles will begin.  The ABHMS theme, for those wishing to submit an application, is "Discipleship and Incarnational Practice".   For more information and to receive an application, contact ABHMS through their website at:  www.nationalministries.org.

The purpose of the Palmer Grant Program is to make grants available to American Baptist related organizations in order to enhance and expand the ministries of American Baptists, with respect to the following:

  • Grants are not be be budget-relieving for the applying organization
  • Grants must clearly be related to the ministry of the applying organization
  • Since grants are to enhance current ministries, no grants shall be awarded to begin new organizations

This is an exciting time and the Foundation is so grateful to Gordon and Virginia Palmer for their vision and desire to leave a legacy that will impact generations to come.
